How To Connect To MySQL

In order to connect to a MySQL database on the server, you will need to use the Host Name or Location assigned to your hosting account.

  1. You can find the Host Name or Location assigned to your hosting account in the Account Manager.
  2. Please log into the Account Manager and click on the MySQL Users link under the Website Settings section.
  3. Select the Username that you will be using and the Host Name will be listed on the page along with other important information about the user.

You must use your assigned Host Name in all scripts if you want to successfully connect to the MySQL server. Please note that Localhost, mysql.guardedhost.com, or mysql.yourdomain.extension WILL NOT WORK.
